Admission to Class VII, O Level & Intermediate

ADMISSION IN CLASS VII & O LEVEL

Cambridge education (O & A Level) is an international and more advanced education. It is provided by Cambridge University England. It is more conceptual and based on understanding. Also by this education, students are given more knowledge who can prove their potential internationally.

By O & A level education students go through the detail study of both the theory and practical. By this programme the students get strong base in their career and touch the heights of their future. By this education a student becomes a practical man in his future and can apply practically his knowledge and can meet the future challenges.

A student studying three years in O Level, appears in the Cambridge university international examinations and gets O Level certificalte from Cambridge university England. After this, the students gets admission in A Level which is more advanced level than O Level. Than the students complete A Level in two years from the same university and gets A Level degree.

Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi (Mansehra) an elite institution which is providing this education successfully. The college started this programme in more organized manner.

The college has well organized class rooms system for this programme and provide quality education. Every year college takes 30 students for this programme out of this 50% from overseas.

ADMISSION IN CLASS VII

Admission is allowed in class – VII once a year on open merit with certain seats reserved on quota system.

The date for submission of admission forms and the schedule of tests are advertised in the leading newspapers of the country.

Tests are taken in the subjects of Urdu, English and Mathematics, followed by interviews. The Mathematics paper is set in English only.

Admissions are strictly on merit. The result/decision of Principal/Admission Committee shall be final and will not be challenged in any court of law.

Only medically fit candidates are offered admission.

Written test is based on the syllabus of class – VI (Specimen papers attached as Anx C)

Compilation of results is confidential and not challengeable in the court of law. No correspondence will be entertained in this connection.

ADMISSION TO OTHER CLASSES

Admission to other classes (8th and 1st Year) is possible on the availability of seats. For the vacant seats an entrance test followed by an interview is held soon after the re-opening of college after vacation. The entry is granted strictly on merit.

ADMISSION TO INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Promotion from Secondary to Intermediate classes is automatic, unless the parents apply for his withdrawal. Further the college may not allow him to continue studies if he secures less than 65% marks in Matric Board Exams.

PROCEDURE FOR SEEKING ADMISSION

  1. Parents/Guardians seeking admission for their son/wards are required to apply on prescribed Application Form available in college prospectus.
    The Application Form should be accompanied by a crossed postal order/Bank draft for the amount indicated on the Application Form payable to the Principal.
  2. The prospectus can be obtained on the payment of Rs. 1000/- while by post it can be obtained on payment of Rs. 1050/- (through Bank Draft payable at NBP Attar Shisha Branch Code – 0855 in the name of Principal Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi). Photocopy of Application Form is not acceptable. The Entrance Test fee fill be Rs. 2000/- per candidate.
  3. The details regarding the submission of Application Form are advertised in all leading national Urdu and English daily newspapers.

EXAMINATION CENTERS

Written tests and interviews are conducted at College Campus Batrasi along with the following Exam Centers in December/January every year (Exact date later)

  3. Lahore
  4. Multan
  5. *Quetta
  6. *Karachi
  7. *Faisalabad
  8. *Sialkot

NB* If the numbers of candidates are less than 30, the center will be replaced with the nearest possible center.

EXAMINATION CENTERS ABROAD

To facilitate the admission of sons/wards of Overseas Pakistanis, written tests and interviews are conducted in the following countries in Jan/Feb every year.

  1. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madina).
  2. Bahrain (Manama)
  3. UAE (Sharjah, Dubai & Abu Dhabi)
  4. Qatar (Doha)
  5. Oman (Muscat)

PROSPECTUS/ENTRANCE TEST CHARGES (FOR FOREIGN BASED PAKISTANIS)

Overseas Pakistani candidates are required to pay 50 US Dollars as Prospectus Fee and 250 US Dollars as entrance test fee before the entry test through bank draft in favour of Principal Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi to be drawn from Bank Al-Habib Limited (Code 2011) Mansehra Branch Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pakistan (Foreign) Currency Account No. 2011-0418-00525-01-4). This is nonrefundable.

ELIGIBILITY

For Admission to any class, a candidate must have passed the pervious class at the time of admission.

Age limits as on 1st March of the year of the admission to be as under:
7th class – 11-13 Years
8th class – 12-14 Years
10th class – 15-17 Years

The physical appearance of the candidate must correspond with the age mentioned in the Application Form, if otherwise, he may be declared unfit.

FEE AND CHARGES

Fee includes tuition, boarding and lodging, electricity and excludes clothing, travelling, medicines, dry cleaning, haircut, laundry, textbooks, stationery, heating and examination fee etc.

*Note:- *The Security Fee is not refundable in case of discharge/expulsion from college on disciplinary grounds. The security fee of such cadets will be forfeited and transferred to College Developmental Fund. No claim is admissible in any court of law for refund of security.

Whereas 10% increase will be made after every year w.e.f 1st Jan as approved by the BOGs if the fee and other charges are not received by due date it will be assumed that you are no longer interested to get your son/ward admitted in this institution and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on Merit List. After depositing fee if you wish to withdraw your son/ward “Only Security Fee will be refunded:”

POLICY CONVERSION OF FEE RATES FROM FOREIGN BASED TO PAKISTAN RATES

As foreign based students are granted admission on relaxation basis in merit, therefore, no one will be converted to local fee structure on any ground, except one whose parents have actually migrated back to Pakistan and he obtained 70% marks in annual exam. Subject to the provision of the following authenticated documents:

  1. Attested copy of Exit Visa of the country of employment (Parents/Guardian).
  2. Dismissal/Discharge certificate from the foreign company where employed. (Parents).
  3. Affidavit on stamp paper worth Rs. 30/- to the effect that the convened parent has left the foreign country on such and such date and now completely shifted to Pakistan.
  4. He must have obtained 70% marks in Terminal Examination.

PAYMENT OF DUES

  1. Rates of fee are on yearly basis but for the convenience of the parents, these are payable in quarterly installments. The parents may pay yearly in advance if so desired. Full boarding and lodging fee will be charged from the entrant irrespective of the month/quarter of joining.
  2. For the payments of fee and other charges, the academic year is divided into four quarters and the fee for each quarter is payable in advance in four equal installments as under:

    iv. January to March 31 January

    Note: The fee should be paid by Bank Draft/Pay Order. Cheques are not acceptable. Bank Draft should be in favour of the Principal Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi, Post Office Attar Shisha, Tehsil and District, Mansehra. The Scout Cadet/Candidate’s number and name should be mentioned on the covering letter and on the reverse of the Bank Draft/Pay Order.

  3. If the fee remains unpaid after 10 days of the expiry of the due date, a fine of Rs. 10—per day will be charged as late fee and after 20 days of the expiry of the due date fine of Rs. 20/- per day shall be charged while after 30 days expiry of the due date the cadet shall be discharged and Principal will call the parents for obtaining proper clearance from the College and thereafter the cadet shall be dispatched along with School leaving Certificate. Such cadets will be given only one chance on parents request subject to payment of Rs. 10000/- as Re-admission Fee and submission of an affidavit on stamp paper worth Rs. 30/- duly attested by Oath Commissioner to the effect that the parents shall pay the fee and other dues regularly. In case of a re-default, the defaulter cadet shall be finally discharged from the college.
  4. No scout cadet will be allowed to appear in any board examination or internal examination, unless his accounts have been settled in full by the date on which the examination begins and no official documents will be issued to the individual.
  5. Full boarding and lodging fee will be charged from a new entrant for the whole academic session in which the joins the institution. The Scout Cadets appearing for the Board Examination (10th and 12th) will pay fee up to the end of quarter in which their Board Examinations finish. In case of withdrawal by parents or guardians, the Scout Cadet will have to pay full fee for the quarter in which he is withdrawn. Fee one paid is not refundable in any case. There is no provision of part adjustment/remission of the amount billed, even if a Scout Cadet remains on the College Rolls for a part of the term.
  6. The manner of spending the fee is not accountable to the parents.
